Privacy Policy

At CADlink Technology Corporation (CADlink), protecting your privacy is important to us and we are dedicated to maintaining and protecting the customer information under our control. As part of this commitment, CADlink has adopted the following ten Privacy Principles based upon Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

CADlink is responsible for the customer information under its control. We have designated a Corporate Privacy Officer who is accountable for CADlink's compliance with the Privacy Principles.

The types of customer information we may ask for depend on the nature of the interaction with CADlink and may include an individual or business name, address, telephone number, email address, identification numbers, credit card numbers, bank account and other financial information.

CADlink will identify the purpose for which customer information is collected, at or before the time such information is collected. Generally, we collect, use and disclose customer information to provide you with the products and services you have requested and to offer you additional products, services and information that we believe you might be interested in.

You can visit CADlink's websites at any time without telling us who you are and without revealing any customer information. However, you may choose to give us customer information voluntarily in a number of situations. For example, you may give us your email address to correspond with you or your credit card details to buy our products.

Your consent is required for the collection, use and disclosure of customer information, except where required or permitted by law. With your consent, we may collect customer information from you in person, over the telephone or by corresponding with you via mail, fax, the Internet or other means. It is always your choice to provide us with customer information. However, your decision to withhold particular details may limit our ability to provide you with our products and services.

The method of obtaining consent is appropriate to the type of customer information being collected, used or disclosed:

CADlink collects customer information to provide products, services and information to you by fair and lawful means only.

Our websites log Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, but not the email addresses, of visitors for the purposes of system administration, gathering statistical information about usage of the sites and improving the content and usage of our sites. We do not ordinarily link a user's IP address to identifiable customer information, which means that your session will be logged but you will remain anonymous to us unless you choose to provide customer information. However, we can and will use IP addresses to identify users of our websites when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance in cases where we reasonably believe it is required by law or to protect our service, our webites or other users on our websites.

A technology called cookies may be used to provide you with customizable information and to allow you to register on our websites. A cookie is a tiny element of data that a website can send to your browser, which then may be stored on your hard drive so that we can recognise you when you return. You can choose whether or not to receive a cookie by changing the setting of your browser. If you choose not to accept cookies, your experience on our websites may be limited and some features will not work as intended.

CADlink uses and discloses your customer information only for the purposes for which it was collected, unless you have consented otherwise, or as required or permitted by law. The type of information we are legally required to disclose may relate to criminal investigations or government tax reporting requirements. In some instances, such as a legal proceeding or court order, we also may be required to disclose certain information to authorities. Only the information specifically requested is disclosed and we take precautions to satisfy ourselves that the authorities making the request have a legitimate basis for it. Some situations where we are permitted legally to disclose customer information include employing reasonable and legal methods to enforce our rights under our agreements, to collect a delinquent account or to investigate suspected illegal activity.

CADlink does not sell or rent customer information to any organization or person for any reason. CADlink does not share your customer information with third party organizations except in the course of its normal business activities. Most often this relates to the use of a third party to process credit card orders of our products and services. We may also use third parties to provide us with various services such as mail distribution from time to time. All third parties are required to protect your customer information in a manner consistent with our privacy polices and procedures.

CADlink retains your customer information only for as long as required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law.

We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that any customer information relevant to its intended use is kept as accurate, complete and up-to-date as possible. In order to do so, we will rely on you to a large extent to provide us with accurate information and to inform us of any changes to that information.

CADlink is committed to protecting your customer information from unauthorized access or use with security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including:

Unauthorized access to and/or disclosure of customer information by a CADlink employee is stictly prohibited. All employees and third party contractors are expected to maintain the confidentiality of customer information at all times and failing to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary measures, which may include dismissal.
